Kerbal Space Center
The Kerbal Space Center, or KSC, is the primary launch center of the Kerbals on their home world of Kerbin. It is comprised of several facilities which each correlate to some gameplay feature. The KSC is where vessels can be built, launched, tracked from and serves as the hub for the player's Agency in Exploration Mode.
Facilities
Vehicle Assembly Building
The Vehicle Assembly Building, or VAB, is where vessels can be built, saved, and loaded. It is the tallest building at the KSC and is located near the center.
Launch Pads
There are four launch pads at the KSC which serve as launch sites. Each one is identical, located on larger circular patches of land surrounded by water on the north end of the KSC.
Runways
There are two runways at the KSC which serve as launch sites. They are identical to each other and sit side by side on the south end of the KSC.
Boat Launch
The Boat Launch is the sole aquatic launch site at the KSC. Here vessels can be "launched" from the surface of the ocean which the KSC is located along the coast of. It is most eastern facility at the KSC.
Landing Pads
There are four landing pads landing pads at the KSC. They are small, circular areas intended for landing returning stages from launched vessels. Each one is identical, located to the west of the VAB.
R&D Center
The R&D Center is the scientific hub of the KSC. This facility is where the Tech Tree is accessed and is consequently only available in Exploration Mode.
Mission Control
Mission Control is where Missions are given to the player and is consequently only available in Exploration Mode.
Tracking Station
The Tracking Station is where active vessels and celestial bodies can be viewed in space. Vessels can be renamed and taken control of from here. This facility features an enormous communication dish.
Training Center
The Training Center is where the player can access the in-game tutorials.
K for Kerb
The KSC suffers from a rampant infestation of Kerbugs which no extermination service has yet to be successful in removing.
