LV-2000 "Trumpet" is a deep space methalox engine. It is unlocked from Deep Space Methalox in Tier 3 of the Tech Tree. It features a telescopic nozzle design. It is efficient in vacuum but significantly ineffective in atmosphere, similar to nuclear engines. Its low rate of fuel consumption and reduced mass contribute also make it effective in interplanetary stages. It has the highest Isp of allMD sized engines.

The "Trumpet" has two sibling parts: the LV-1000 "Cornet" (SM ) and the LV-3000 "Tuba" (LG ).

Usage

The overall performance of the Trumpet makes it viable for interplanetary stages. With noMD nuclear engines available, the Trumpet fills a niche in its size category for high efficiency deep space options.

Synopsis

When the CEO of Ionic Symphonic Electronics commissioned Jebediah's Junkyard to build an deep space engine, the business world was confused. It made a little more sense with the engine name was revealed.
