The "Trumpet" has two sibling parts: the LV-1000 "Cornet" (SM ) and the LV-3000 "Tuba" (LG ).
Usage[edit | edit source]
The overall performance of the Trumpet makes it viable for interplanetary stages. It competes with the LV-SW "SWERV" in theLG category for this purpose. The greater density of methalox would allow for the Tuba to be used to make a smaller vessel capable of the same Δv compared to the hydrogen-burning SWERV. It's lower-than-average maximum temperature and impact tolerance also act as incentive to only use the engine in vacuum. The length and sensitivity of the engine would make it non-ideal for landers, especially on atmospheric bodies.

Unlike its namesake, the LV-3000 "Tuba" is elegant and graceful and designed for superior performance in vacuum. Funded heavily by Ionic Symphonic Protonic Electronics, this beautiful monster is manufactured to haul an entire orchestra to other worlds with ease.
