The '''Research & Development Center''', or just '''R&D Center''', is a facility at the [[Kerbal Space Center]]. The R&D Center was added in [[0.2.0.0]] and is only accessible in [[Exploration mode]].

=== Function ===
The R&D Center's primary function is to access the [[Tech Tree]] for unlocking research nodes. Once "inside" the R&D Center the tech tree is displayed front and center. To the left side is the description of the selected research node. The tech tree tiers are located above the main branch. The player's current amount of collected [[Science]] points is located in the top right corner. The facility has a location ribbon in the top left corner which may suggest other R&D Centers may be able to be built by the player as a part of a colony, although this is not a confirmed possibility.

The R&D Center is made up of a few connected buildings. There are wind tunnels, [[wikipedia:Quonset_hut|quonset huts]], a bridge, smaller spherical chambers, and the iconic large spherical topper. The bridge is a popular choice for KSC aerobatics.
